Family Business Succession is not a single event nor does it occur overnight. It requires preparation and conditioning before being attempted. There is often more unspoken than spoken in the succession process and expectations on everyone’s part go unfulfilled causing tension and frustration, for everyone including family members not even involved. Getting an early handle of everyone’s expectations is critical.
